The activities of the Institute are administered under the Nepal Chartered Accountants Regulation, 2004. The Council has approved the following Bylaws and Procedures for conducting its activities:

- Employee Service Bylaws, 2010
- Election Procedures, 2004
- Committee Operations Procedure, 2005
- COP Upgrading Procedure, 2005
- Scholarship Procedure, 2007
- Firm Registration Procedure, 2010
An Executive Director appointed by the Council for a term of four years. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute and executes the decisions of the Council. Currently ICAN has following five departments headed by following staffs.
